Men's Ministry

At the heart of the ROCK’s Men’s Ministry are Cores (Impact Groups) within local churches—ideally small bands of 3 to 15 Knights and Fellows. These groups are more than meetings; they are brotherhoods.

Core Groups train together, pray together, and serve together, forging bonds of loyalty and trust. Over time, these men become one another’s inner circle and closest friends, walking side by side through life’s battles. This deep fellowship equips them to stand strong in faith, remain accountable, and lead their families with courage and conviction.

Because they have been tested together, they are ready to be effective in the field—whether protecting their church, serving in the community, or responding to moments of crisis. The strength of the Order is not found in numbers alone, but in these trusted circles of men who live, serve, and fight for Christ as brothers.

Women's Auxiliary

The Women’s Auxiliary is a fellowship of women who come alongside the ROCK to support the work of the Order and strengthen one another in faith. Less formal than the men’s structure, the Auxiliary creates a space for women to pray together, share life, and encourage one another in their walk with Christ.

When the men are deployed or engaged in service, these women remain steadfast—caring for families, ministering to needs within the church, and offering practical and spiritual support. They embody the spirit of chivalry in their own way: through hospitality, compassion, and discipleship.

Together, the Women’s Auxiliary ensures that the mission of the Order is carried out with balance, strength, and grace, reminding everyone that this is a family calling, not just a men’s movement.

Youth Program

The Cadet Program is the youth ministry of the ROCK, designed to raise up the next generation of men of God. Cadets (ages 12–17), train under the guidance of Knights and Fellows. At age 18, young men may continue as Squires, paired with a mentor Knight to walk with them during their transition into adulthood and potential Knighthood.

Cadets grow in faith, discipline, and practical skills. Weekly gatherings combine Bible study, hands-on training, and service projects. Through merit badges, campouts, and roundtables, Cadets learn responsibility, teamwork, and the traditions of chivalry.

This program is not simply about activities—it’s about character formation. Cadets learn what it means to honor Christ, lead with courage, protect the vulnerable, and serve their communities. By the time they become Squires, these young men are already on the Path to Knighthood, ready to take their place as strong Christian leaders in their churches and families.

Church Safety Teams

The ROCK is committed to helping churches create safe places for worship. Core Groups play an integral role by serving on or starting church safety teams, bringing a spirit of preparedness and brotherhood to their congregations.

The Order equips these teams with resources to be both practical and effective, including:

  • First Aid training for medical emergencies
  • Active threat response training to protect congregations in crisis
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development tailored to each church
  • Support with equipment procurement, such as first aid kits, radios, and other essentials

Church safety teams are not about fear—they are about readiness, stewardship, and protection. By training together and serving faithfully, Knights and Fellows help ensure that families can worship in peace, knowing that capable men of God are standing watch.

Missionary Security Teams

The ROCK is dedicated to ensuring that missionaries can serve boldly and safely in the most challenging environments. We deploy trained security teams who specialize in protecting missionaries and their families while supporting the mission’s Gospel work.

Our teams provide:

  • Threat assessments to evaluate risks before and during deployment
  • Route planning for safe movement in uncertain regions
  • Emergency extraction (“Get Out Of Dodge”) response in case of crisis
  • Executive protection for mission leaders
  • Flexible security presence—either operating discreetly, embedded with the mission team, or serving as a visible deterrent, depending on the need

These security teams are not mercenaries; they are men of God trained to serve. Their role is to remove distractions, guard against danger, and ensure that missionaries can focus fully on their calling to preach the Gospel.

Disaster Response

When disaster strikes, the ROCK stands ready to serve. Our members are trained in FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) standards, ensuring that we can integrate seamlessly with local agencies and relief organizations.

We bring a wide range of skills and experience to the field—rescue operations, construction and rebuilding, medical aid, logistics, and more. Whether clearing debris, providing first aid, or supporting shelters, our teams respond with discipline, compassion, and faith.

Our goal is simple: to be the hands and feet of Christ in moments of crisis, bringing help, hope, and stability to families and communities when they need it most.

Homeless Ministry

The ROCK serves alongside churches and parachurch ministries to reach some of the most vulnerable people in our communities—the homeless. Our role is to provide a trusted safety presence during outreach events, creating an environment where ministry can happen freely and without distraction.

In addition to offering security, our members are trained to provide basic first aid for individuals who may not have received medical attention in some time. By meeting both physical and spiritual needs, we help extend the love of Christ in practical, tangible ways—reminding each person that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Military & First Responder Ministry

The ROCK stands with those who serve on the front lines—soldiers, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel. We believe that the traditions of chivalry provide the framework for fulfilling these demanding roles in a way that honors God. By embracing the “warrior poet” philosophy, men and women in uniform can balance courage with compassion, finding strength not only for battle but also for healing.

The ROCK offers brotherhood and accountability, giving active-duty personnel, veterans, and retirees a renewed sense of purpose beyond their service. For those carrying the unseen burdens of PTSD and job-related stress, the fellowship of Knights provides encouragement, discipline, and spiritual support.

Our Women’s Auxiliary also plays a vital role, offering care and encouragement to the families of deployed service members and first responders. Together, we help ensure that those who give so much for others are not left to carry their struggles alone.

Past Overseas Missions

Operation Red Heart

In March 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sir Anthony Shanander led a team of knights and fellows to conduct humanitarian operations based out of Krakow, Poland.

The team transported 52 Ukrainian refugees (women, children, and elderly) away from the Polish/Ukrainian border to safe-houses in Eastern and Central Poland. The team delivered nearly $50,000 worth of food, clothing, and medical supplies to Christian organizations in Ukraine. The team provided security and tactical emergency casualty care training for missionaries traveling deep into hostile territory.

Operation Date Palm

In November 2023, following the Hamas invasion of Israel, the ROCK sent a team of two knights to the West Bank of Israel.

The team identified a small farm that was in desperate need of help due to a shortage of farmhands because of the war. The farm was in danger of losing their crop of date palm trees due to blight, so the knights used chainsaws and heavy equipment to remove the diseased trees and save the livelihood of the farmers.

Operation Steadfast Love

In October 2024, following Hurricane Helene, Sir Mark Jones led a team of fellows to North Carolina, USA, to conduct disaster relief work.

The team made contact with several local churches who helped them find specific families in need. The team did cleanup operations and reroofed a home that had been severely damaged during the storm.

Near the conclusion of the mission, the team became aware of a family that had lost their entire home. They found a travel trailer in the next county that was for sale and coordinated with the support team back home to quickly raise funds to purchase the trailer and get the family into semi-permanent shelter.

Operation White Rooster

In May 2025, Sir Anthony Shanander led a team of knights and fellows to support missionaries from Farm and Family Missions as they hosted pastors conferences in Kenya and a church-plant opening ceremony in Uganda.

The team endured tear-gas when they found themselves in the midst of a riot, stood up for a group of teenagers who were threatened by their bus driver, and were arrested by local police looking for a bribe. The knights ensured that the missionaries were able to minister to the local people without having to worry about what was going on around them.

Past Local Missions

Skagit River Floods

In October 2021, the Skagit River in Skagit County, Washington, USA, reached near-record flood stage. The local commandery deployed a team of knights to fill, deliver, and place sand bags at local residences and at key locations in downtown Mount Vernon to protect the city from flooding.

When the Army Corps of Engineers temporary sandbag barricade failed in Sedro-Woolley, the team leapt into action warning residents of the swiftly rising waters. The team was credited with saving the lives of an elderly woman and four children.

Community Worship Event
Safety Team

In June 2019, knights from the Skagit Commandery provided a safety team for a multi-church community worship event held at the Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley. The event had nearly a thousand people in attendance.

During the event there was a shooting several blocks away. The knights coordinated with law enforcement to secure the area and ensure the continued safety of the event.

Skagit Homeless Ministry

On the last Saturday of every month, knights from the Skagit Commandery support a homeless outreach ministry put on by Farm and Family Missions Church of Bow, Washington, USA.

Along with set-up and tear down, the knights provide a safety presence just in case the individuals being ministered to become hostile. The knights also provide basic medical care to homeless individuals, often cleaning and bandaging wounds.
